Trying to get a straight answer on dating apps and the search results are useless, so: are there dating apps for older women that aren't just for "cubs"?

My experience with dating apps so far has been mixed enough that I stopped trusting first impressions.

What I want from this dating apps thread is people describing what actually happened, not what the landing page claims.

Jace Sullivan's take does not match what I have seen with dating apps, because persistence matters more than the choice.

Logging in at a consistent time made more difference to my dating apps results than switching platforms did.

The tell with dating apps is usually whether the replies reference anything on your profile.

The thing I look at first with dating apps is whether the location radius on dating apps means what it claims.

Jace Sullivan is on the money. My own experience with dating apps matches that.

What changed my results with dating apps was rewriting the opening line entirely.

If whether the unmatch behaviour does anything measurable when you test it against dating apps isn't there, I don't bother with dating apps at all.

Not sure I am with Gavin Bailey on this one; where dating apps is concerned, approach outweighs platform selection.

Message response time counts for more than how polished the app looks, at least in my experience with dating apps.

I'd frame dating apps this way: usage patterns beat feature comparisons.

I'd check whether the free tier behaves the way the marketing says when you test it against dating apps before committing any time to dating apps.

With dating apps specifically, how you use it matters more than which one.

Habits matter more than app choice, and that applies to dating apps as much as anywhere.

My read on dating apps: habits matter more than app choice.

I'd check whether the location radius is applied consistently when you test it against dating apps before committing any time to dating apps.

Respectfully Natalie, that has not been my experience of dating apps, where usage patterns beat feature comparisons.

I'd check how the unmatch behaviour behaves once you actually use dating apps before committing any time to dating apps.

For a second opinion on dating apps I also looked at Datebound, which took a different approach.

Quick checklist I use when weighing up dating apps:

  • whether the 'last active' timestamps does anything measurable when you test it against dating apps
  • whether the profile prompts actually works when you test it against dating apps
  • whether the 'last active' timestamps on dating apps holds up under real use

With dating apps specifically, technique matters more than the tool.

If we're talking dating apps, consistency beats platform-hopping.

How many matches actually respond is more informative than promotional claims, at least in my experience with dating apps.

Worth comparing against Flurrydate before you settle on anything for dating apps.

Coming back to say I tried a few of these for dating apps and the advice held up: how you use it matters more than which one.

Turning off the boost features made more difference to my dating apps results than switching platforms did.

What changed my results with dating apps was swapping the lead photo.

With dating apps specifically, the platform matters less than the approach.
